Elliot Smith and Curt Cobain types alike, are here to accomplish greatness. Who's to say that if they were still here that they'd still be making great music?

That's kind of a morbid thought/statement, but I've thought about it that way a few times. Look at the other people in the genre and era of these people. Very few stayed true to their roots and continued making music they way they wanted to.
